Amitive (originally, Mitrix) began as a developer of supply chain management solutions targeting a very specific market. A predominant segment of Amitive’s customers were providers of procurement management services. These entities served US based manufacturers and retailers who procured raw materials and finished goods from offshore entities but preferred to outsource the management of procurement-related activities. As such, Amitive’s customers served as the central nodes in communities of vendors and buyers. Their role was to coordinate the needs of the latter with the capabilities of the former. The key to their success was their ability to meet their customers need as efficiently as possible.
